Rule of "7"
Here at Big Paw Great Danes, we follow "The Rule of 7" when socializing our puppies. We had found that this helps our puppies become better prepared for their new homes and for the world in general! We do this with every litter born here and we are proud to say that it works very, very well! Our puppy buyers love how well their puppies are socialized even before they go to their new, forever homes. Be sure to read over the "Rule of 7" before bringing home your new puppy to see everything they have been through while living with us. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us on the home page.

The Rule of 7's in Puppy Socialization
This is the Rule of Sevens. It says that by the time your puppy is 7 weeks old it should be exposed to the following situations:
Most puppies are 8-10 weeks old before they are removed from the litter. At this point, the crucial puppy socialization period is well under way. It’s very important for breeders to be proactive in socializing their litters to ensure that the pups will be confident, relaxed and good with other dogs, people and children. We take pride in socializing our pups with the rule of 7’s. The critical socialization period continues for several weeks. During this time be very careful to expose your puppy to new situations. Take it slow and make sure it is a positive experience. Offer your puppy treats and monitor its reaction when exposing it to new situations. A well socialized pup will be a better behaved adult dog that will be easier and safer to handle. |
